A composer, sound artist, and software developer from the United States. His generative music focuses on coupling random processes with human interaction. He studied Music Composition in Chicago, and then received his Master’s at University of Washington, where he studied with sound artist Juan Pampin.
Luke’s custom software interfaces with an EEG headset to read the user’s brainwaves in realtime. The brainwave data is then used to control the pitch, rhythm, and various parameters on a number of sequencers and synthesizers. Moving in and out of a meditative state, or focussing on different stimuli, the user is able to create various audible trajectories in the resulting music.
