From the high slopes of Mount Elgon in eastern Uganda, experience a uniquely bold anaerobic natural coffee crafted with passion and precision.
This lot is produced through a close partnership between local smallholder farmers and Darlee Coffee, a family-owned company founded in 2017. Darlee Coffee works hand-in-hand with the community, providing agricultural support and guaranteed stable pricing to foster a sustainable future for Ugandan coffee.
Named "Buyazi," a Luganda word meaning "unconventional boldness," this coffee is made from hand-selected ripe cherries undergoing a 5-day anaerobic fermentation in sealed drums followed by careful sun-drying on African raised beds. The result is a vibrant, well-balanced cup showcasing crisp apple and plum notes, floral accents, and a rich, sweet finish with hints of whisky-like ferment complexity.
