We made a latte cup to use in the shop.
We had it made from scratch by a company in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. Mino ware is one of my favorite types of pottery, and we learned that ORIGAMI drippers are also made very close to the company we worked with. It may be that Mino ware is used more often in coffee-related items than we had expected.
First, we was told that we needed to send them a sample model, so we modeled it using Blender, which we had only played around with a little before. Since we had to make the sample myself, we bought an inexpensive 3D printer and printed it several times, adjusting the feel in the hand and the overall size until the sample was ready.
When we brought it to Toki City, we was also able to visit the model maker, the glaze maker, and the mold maker.
The cup was made after choosing from a variety of glazes.
You can try it when you order a latte or other milk-based drink at the shop.
Please give it a try.
Size: approx. 9 cm diameter × approx. 6.8 cm height
Capacity: approx. 240 ml
Weight: 150–160 g
Note:
Each cup is made by hand, so please understand that there will be individual differences, such as variations in how the glaze is applied.
As this is ceramic, please avoid using it in the microwave.
