SIMBI

RWANDA

The Simbi Coffee Washing Station, located in the Simbi sector of Huye District in southern Rwanda, sources its cherries from the Imbereheza cooperative, which is made up of about 250 smallholder farmers—around 60% of them women. The station began full operations in 2013, established by owner Abdul Rudahungwa with the goal of improving both convenience for producers and coffee quality.

Cherries are primarily collected from the Maraba area at altitudes around 1,760 meters. The station has consistently earned strong results at the Cup of Excellence and is renowned worldwide for producing outstanding fully washed coffees. In recent years, Simbi has also explored new processing methods such as honey and natural. By upholding strict sorting and drying standards, the station continues to produce diverse specialty coffees with clean and vibrant flavor profiles.
