KII

KENYA

A bold, juicy, and refreshingly bright coffee—just what you’d expect from Kenya.
Great both hot and iced, and perfect for any season.

Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative Society
Located about 112 km west of Nairobi in Kirinyaga County, the Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative Society operates eight wet mills, including Ragati, Murang, Chema, and Sunguri. The cooperative has around 6,900 members, of whom about 70% are women producers. Although overall production has been declining in recent years, the cooperative remains deeply rooted in the local community, maintaining sustainable coffee production and earning high recognition for its exceptional quality.

Meticulous Selection and Traditional Processing
Ripe cherries grown by smallholder farmers are delivered to the Sunguri Factory on the day of harvest. They undergo thorough sorting — including handpicking and density separation — before depulping. The coffee is then fermented for 16–18 hours in tanks, washed, and dried on African beds. During drying, the beans are repeatedly turned and sorted until the moisture content reaches 10.5–11.5%, ensuring a clean, consistent, and carefully refined cup.
